SPEC Property Maintenance & Repairs is an owner-operated business based in Tooting, South West London.
What we collect
When you request a quote or book work, we collect your name, email, phone number, address, details of the work needed and any contact details you give for a landlord, agent or tenant. You may also upload photos or videos to help us understand the job. We also record whether you asked us to start within the 14-day cancellation period, and how you found us — the website or search engine you came from and the first page you landed on — which is sent with your quote request.
Like most websites, our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, pages requested, date and time, browser type) for security and to understand how visitors find the site. These are kept for up to 90 days.
Why, and our lawful basis
We use your details to reply to your enquiry, quote, arrange and carry out the work, and send booking confirmations and reminders — this is necessary to take steps towards and perform our contract with you. Recording how you found us, keeping server logs and, after a job, sending one email asking for a Google review are based on our legitimate interests in running and improving a small business. We don't send marketing newsletters, and we never sell your data.
How long we keep it
We keep booking records, including photos, only as long as needed to complete the work, handle any follow-up, and meet our legal and accounting obligations, and then delete them. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.
Email preferences
We send appointment reminders, follow-ups and a review request by email. You can opt out of any of these via the link in our emails.
Cookies and tracking
We don't use cookies for tracking, and there is no analytics or advertising code on this site. Our fonts are hosted on our own server.
Who else handles your data
When you look up your address, the postcode you type is sent to postcodes.io to find matching addresses. Emails sent to our business address are delivered to a Google (Gmail) mailbox, so Google processes the messages we receive, including booking notifications. We use a Google Business Profile for reviews; if you leave a review, Google's own privacy policy applies.
Security
The site uses HTTPS. Your data is stored on a secure server in Germany (EU). Access is limited to the business owner and the person who maintains the website for us.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to show you what data we hold, correct it, delete it, or object to how we use it. Get in touch and we'll sort it out. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
